Just posted some comments on using WOM in the marketing mix on the Independent Practitioner's Alliance blog: http://ipa.prsa.org/?p=93. It details a few of the WOM concepts, including Ben and Jackie's Customer Evangelism, which I use to help clients…

Help A Reporter Out (HARO)

If you're on either side of media stories (PR or journalist), you gotta know about HARO. It's an entertaining email you get two or three times a day, thanks to Peter Shankman, listing of stories for which reporters need sources.

Shankman says he "consults to companies around the world on PR, Marketing, Social Media, and thinking differently. I speak at conferences all the time. I started this idea to help all my reporter friends. Originally built as a FaceBook group, it's grown like mad (like m… Continue

I'm going to get comfirmation, but would imagine we'll be tweeting each other. And we'll have photos to post. We'll be sure to get the gang together again soon. It would be fun to meet you. I bet the Shankman keynote will be great. Like you said, he's a word of mouth rock star.
Take care Ann.

Hi Ann:
Love getting HARO. I'm so bummed both events are on the same night. Not sure what to do since the SWOM mixer is happening on the same night around the country. Well, maybe we'll keep this night since it's been promoted through the organization and then schedule another one this summer so we can all get together.
Thank you so much for the heads up. Much appreciated.

I have a lot of restaurant clients -- many are aware of the org but none are members. Please let me know what you think. Might be a good networking experience for our independents.
Thank you for reaching out.
Kindly,
Laura

HI! Yes, I did find a few friends... still learning how to use this to its full potential, though. Thanks, Ann!

Hi Ann, definitely interested. In fact, was meaning to ask if you'd be a guest speaker at my mompreneurs monthly meet-up group. I just started it last week and have about 18 working moms involved already! Talk about WOM! All off the article in the Republic. Let me know. You'd probably speak for about 20 to 30 minutes and can probably get some biz your way for your brainstorming sessions. Would love to have you, especially since you, too, are an awesome mompreneur and an inspiration!! :)
