Hi everyone, I'm in a small town - Hinesville, Ga. Well, technically it's not very small due to Ft. Stewart Army Base being nearby,(tends to make it a transient community) but I'm involved in a lot of the Downtown Hinesville activities - and that's small. It's a wonderful place to be. From the Hinesville Area Arts Council, to the Downtown Development to everything that our Chamber of Commerce does to promote the small businesses there (including mine - VIP Promotional Products) - Small towns are the heart of any business and word of mouth, is also critical in a town like mine, to show our families on Ft. Stewart, that Hinesville is a wonderful place to live while in the Army or for a lifetime.

Hey Ya'll,
Greetings from Wharton, TX! We've recently launched our company, Rust Reviews. We coach small businesses to collect customer recommendations and then work with our clients to use this feedback to improve their marketing and business operations. We focus on small town businesses so I'm looking forward to sharing ideas with other members of the Group.

Hi all!

My company does research and consulting on Word of Mouth in St. Cloud MN--we work with clients all over MN, but unless they're in the twin cities, most of our clients are "small town" :) I'm excited to see this section on SWOM and look forward to learning from you and maybe sharing some of our successful strategies when I can.
Thanks and have a great day!

Yes. We're also members of a new group in the chamber promoting green business audits.

I strongly believe that word of mouth in a small community is absolutely critical to success. That means engagement in the chamber and other groups, even when some aspects and positions are disagreeable.
